There is nothing wrong with the function of this pipe. The iris turned out a little bit off round. The fume still looks great, and the pipe will work perfectly. Because of the iris, it's marked down in price a good amount.
The glass eye at the end of this spoon is full of meticulously crafted details. The iris of the eye is filled with many very fine striations of colored glass. Much more work went into this particular pipe (compared to the other glass eye pipes that I usually sell). I started with a tube of amber colored glass, I added small color accents, and put on light coats of gold and silver fume. I great variety of colors can be achieved by layering varying amounts of silver and gold fume. I then put the decorated tube into a separate larger clear tube of glass and fused the two tubes into one thick one. By encasing the colorful tube in an outer layer of clear I gave the colors more of a glossy look, and more depth. This is a nice and heavy/thick piece.

All of the layers of glass used in this piece are borosilicate glass, which is much more durable than standard glass. Kiln annealed for durability.
