This pipe has been in my shop for a while, so I decided to mark it down in price. It was 62, and is now 52 with free shipping.
A lot of extra work went into this one. I put careful attention into sculpting the little octopus clinging to the bowl, and I fused multiple layers of glass to create the one of a kind coloring of this piece.
To create the unique coloring on this piece I started with a tube of cobalt glass, I added small color accents, and put on light coats of gold and silver fume. A great variety of colors can be achieved by layering varying amounts of silver and gold fume. I then put the decorated tube into a separate larger clear tube of glass and fused the two tubes into one thick one. By encasing the colorful tube in an outer layer of clear I gave the colors more of a glossy look, and more depth.
The lighter in the last photo is a standard sized Bic. The piece in the photos is the exact one that is for sale. It weighs 165 grams.
